Our Story

Corrie’s love of luxury travel was cemented at the age of 13 when her father took her to Paris to stay at the Bristol Hotel and to visit Reims where Cristal champagne is produced. In addition to Los Angeles she has lived and worked in New York, London, Berlin, and Sydney and traveled all over Europe, Africa, Asia and Australasia.

She developed her love for surfing while living with her family in Nosara, Costa Rica in 2018. Since then she has loved discovering new parts of the world by exploring their local surf. With Swell Surf Travel she has merged two of her great loves, travel and surfing. Her other passion is her daughter Willow, and she has cherished the memories she has made traveling the world with her since she got her passport at 3 months old. Corrie is stoked to assist her clients in making lasting memories through their own travels.

Surf Coach

Deyner Campos

Deyner Campos began surfing at the age of 14 when his family moved from the Caribbean side of Costa Rica to the Guanacaste Península. Fluent in Spanish and English, his enthusiasm and playful style is infectious. When the sun has set and everyone has left the water you can find Deyner still there, always trying to catch one more wave.
Director Of Surfing And Fitness Programs

Esteban Lopez Paniagua

Esteban Lopez fell in love with surfing the first time he saw the ocean at the age of thirteen. He brings a fierce sense of purpose to every opportunity he pursues, and whether he is playing tennis or training for a triathlon, he does nothing by half measures. After starting the first Costa Rican owned surf shop in Nosara, he has spent more than a decade seeking to inspire his clients to feel joy in their surfing as well as a healthy respect for the ocean. Fluent in Spanish and English, Esteban has traveled extensively and has been fortunate enough to surf everywhere from the Maldives to Portugal to Hawaii to Bali. The more he travels, the more it ignites in him a passion to explore the great big beautiful world around him, one surf break at a time.

Favorite surf break:
Hideaways - for a goofy footer it’s the stuff dreams are made of

Favorite travel experience:
Definitely the Mentawais in Indonesia. Other than beyond perfection waves, it’s also paradise.

Surf Coach

Stone Van Timmeren

Born in Holland but raised on the beaches of Costa Rica, Stone is all about passion and being in the moment. His sweetness and sensitivity infuses both his surfing and his teaching. He is fluent in Spanish, English, and Dutch.

Favorite break: My favorite break is in my home town, a place called Pink Beach. It is accessible by boat, but you have to walk around the peninsula during low tide. You spend your day surfing and picnicking, and later wait for the tide to drop again so you can walk back. This place has an undeniable charm.

Because in the end you won’t remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing your lawn. Climb that mountain.
